Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Imo State November 11th governorship election, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu has solicited the support and cooperation of media practitioners especially social media influencers and handlers of new media to his campaigns.
He said he needed support from every citizen of the state for him unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC government of Sen. Hope Uzodinma and to change the narrative of the state.
Anyanwu, popularly known as Samdaddy, who made the appeal while interacting with newsmen in Owerri, said he would prioritize efforts that would guarantee adequate security and enhance general well-being of Imo people if elected.
He said, "I want you to help me tell the world and Imo electorate that PDP is on track to save Imo and make it better again. I want you to help me ensure that Imo people's confidence for good governance is restored.
"There is no doubt that Imo people have lost confidence under the present administration and desire a change. A change that will restore their confidence in the government.
"They want a government that would guarantee adequate security and good governance. And this is why we are in the race. We want to offer this change and restore our lost glory."

Speaking further, Anyanwu who is currently the PDP National Secretary, assured that his government would also focus on people oriented policies and programmes as well as galvanise support within and outside the state to ensure improved socio-economic development of the state.
He said, "when we are elected by the grace of God, we will start from the grassroot to turn Imo around for good. We will revamp our local government system. Every Imo citizen will have good sense of belonging in my government.
"We will prioritize people's welfare and general well-being under my government. We will restore Imo glory which we have lost under this current government.
"Current Imo is in a deplorable condition. The present government in Imo State is jobless. That is why they can not guarantee security and dividends of democracy for the people. I believe that the present people in Imo government have no business being there because they lack what it takes to lead Imo to prosperity."
