Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma has attributed his emergence as governor of the state to the fervent prayers and desire of Imo people for positive changes and liberation from shackles of mis-governance and infrastructural decadence in the state.
He said that for the confidence Imo people reposed on him, he would continue to do his best to offer good governance and quality leadership services as governor of the state.
Governor Uzodinma stated this shortly after receiving Diamond Jubilee Award from Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, AIFCE, Owerri in recognition of his support and dedication to the growth and development of the institution, as the college marked her 60th anniversary of its establishment on Thursday.
According to him, all his government's policies and programmes are tailored towards alleviating the sufferings of the people as well as activating and positioning all sectors of the state for effective service delivery.
He reiterated his government commitment to enhancing education standard in the state especially in the areas of training and retraining for high quality manpower, employment and regular salary payment for teachers, providing support funds to schools and ensuring conducive environment for teaching and learning in the state.
He said, "all I have done as Imo Governor is for the good of the people because I know God used Imo people to make me a governor. And I will continue to do more."

And speaking on the importance of education to national development, Governor Uzodinma said, "any reasonable person in a position of authority must prioritize and invest in education.
"This is why as the Governor of Imo State I have been able to establish the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, in addition to the recovery of K. O. Mbadiwe University Ogboko, making Imo State one of the States that is funding three Universities, a Polytechnic and a College of Education which is not a mean task."
