... sue collaboration for credible poll

Ahead of November 11th governorship election in Imo State, a group, Nigeria Democracy Ambassador, NDA has expressed confidence on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to deliver credible poll.
Also, the Commission's Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the state, Prof. Sylvia Agu, according to the group, has demonstrated preparedness and capacity to live to expectations in the coming poll.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, yesterday, the Coordinator, Comrade Joshua Oguejifor urged Imo citizens especially the stakeholders to rally their support behind the REC to ensure that the forthcoming election is free, fair and transparent.

Oguejifor said, "the lapses witnessed in the last general elections were not peculiar to Imo State alone and hence, not the making of the REC in Imo State. It is a general shortfall which I am confident will not repeat again in this coming off-cycle governorship election in the state."
"In fact when you look at the level of commitment so far expressed by the Imo REC towards this election, you will know that it is not going to be business as usual.
"She has through her constant advocacy meetings with critical stakeholders in the state and other proactive steps aimed at restoring peoples confidence in electioneering process, shown her readiness to ensure that the November 11th is free, fair and credible."
"But don't forget that INEC will not do it alone. They need the support of all and sundry especially the stakeholders including the security agencies, political parties and the media.
"We must all join hands with INEC to get things right this time around. So far, what the REC has done deserves commendation and we should do more to encourage her to deliver to our expectations." he added.

The NDA boss further said the group has launched "Your Vote is Your Voice" project aimed at mobilising Imo voters for active participation and protecting their votes during the election.
He said the group is committed to partnering with government and other concerned organisations on efforts that would guarantee good governance and adequate development in Imo State.
