Imo CP attributes Command's successes to Uzodimma's ceaseless support

Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma has applauded the state governor, for his ceaseless support to the command which according to him has facilitated the many successes recorded by the command.

The Imo Police boss reassured his commitment in ensuring that officers and men of the command are dedicated, patriotic and diligent to duty.

The Imo Police boss stated this at the three-day capacity building workshop organised for officers and men of the Command with the theme "Competence, Professionalism for Effective Service Delivery", held at the Command's headquarters, Owerri on Tuesday.

He reiterated that the command under his watch would not cordon any form of indiscipline, misconduct and human rights violation including extortion, brutalization and unlawful detention of suspects by his men.

"May I use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator  Hope Uzodimma, for his immense and ceaseless support for the command Indeed, he has remained our major source of strength and behind our many successes. We can't thank him enough."

Speaking on the workshop, CP Danjuma described it as a great opportunity to continually enhance men and officers of the Nigerian Police Force for effective service delivery.

He said, "this workshop is timely and apt, as it is in line with one of the visions of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP KAYODE A. EGBETOKUN, PHD. NPM, towards building a better police officer for effective policing.  

"Recall that in my inaugural speech on my arrival as the newest Commissioner of Police, Imo state, I did promise that the command under my watch will always partner and embrace efforts that will enhance the efficiency and productivity of the officers and men of the command. And I believe that this workshop is one of them.

"Of course it is my firm believe that this workshop is a bold march towards building crop of Policemen that are experienced, dedicated patriotic and diligent to duty.

"This workshop will also equipped the course participants with the prerequisite knowledge as well as guide them to work properly and in accordance to the rule of law and international standard best practices."

Highlights of the opening day of the workshop included lectures delivered by Chief Magistrate Emeka Ukachukwu on “the role of Magistrate and Police Officer in the Implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law while Barr. Chukwurah Onuorah delivered on “enhancing the relationship between Police Officers and legal practitioners.
