Inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for a second tenure has been described as a celebration of the people of the state.
The event billed for Monday, 15th January, 2024 will be held at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, the state capital.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba stated this in a press conference held at his office on Thursday.
He said, "although important dignitaries from across the globe are billed to attend the inauguration, the event is actually about celebrating Imo people who have shown so much love and support for Gov Hope Uzodimma and his government ".

Emelumba who is also Chairman of the Publicity Sub Committee for the inauguration noted that the reelection of Uzodimma was historic and manner of his victory unprecedented.
He stated that it was the first time since the state was created that a candidate will win in all the 27 local government areas of the state in gubernatorial election.
He further said that the Governor would use the second term to appreciate Imo people for the love and support shown to him in his first term by providing good democratic dividends for the people.
According to him, "that unprecedented love is what Uzodimma has vowed to reciprocate as he is about to take off in his second tenure.
"The governor had already signalled his intention to redouble effort in his second tenure when he told Imo people in his new year remarks after a church service in Omuma, that they should expect more action and prosperity from him from this year henceforth."
Speaking further about the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony, the Commissioner disclosed that the 100 man Committee set up by Uzodimma for the auspicious event headed by Sen. Chris Anyanwu, "is working round the clock to achieve success."
He continued, "reaching the committee from the 27 local government areas of the state indicated that Imo people were eager to be part of the historic occasion.
"They are looking up to it with much enthusiasm and great joy. This is understandable, given the fact that the people gave the governor an unprecedented massive vote support in the November 11th governorship election "
"Also because the governor has in the last four years touched on the lives of most Imo people through massive infrastructure provisions, youth empowerment and many other laudable programmes, the people are expectantly joyous "
He assured that adequate and necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the event is hitch free, successful and memorable.
