Action Alliance candidate for Ezinihitte Mbaise State Constituency in the 2023 general election, Hon. Ogbuokiri Uzochukwu has resigned his membership of the party.
In a letter addressed to his ward party Chairman, dated 1st March, 2024, Hon. Ogbuokiri popularly known as OGB said his decision followed the inability of the party leaders to resolve the crisis that had rocked the party since 2023, among other issues.
OGB, an astute businessman and Microbiologist, also used the opportunity to appreciate all his supporters and loyalists for their dedicated to his political course while assuring them that his decision to leave AA was for their general interest.

The letter reads, "I, Ogbuokiri Uzochukwu popularly known as OGB After due consultation with the OGB Emancipation campaign team, my family, friends and well wishers have decided to resign my membership from the Action Alliance (AA) party for the following reasons:
1. The very high level of inconsistencies in the party.
2. Trust issues among the leadership of the party in the state.
3. The series of unsettled court cases which have slowed down the activities of the party etc.
4. The inability of the State Executives to mutually resolve these issues.

"I want to extend my love and appreciation to my teaming followers and supporters and to urge them to see reasons with me and join me wherever I may wish to redirect the paddle.
"I promise you that this decision is in the interest of the people of Ezinihitte, Imo state and Nigeria in general."
Reacting over OGB's decision, a chieftain of the party in the state, Chief Nicholas Uzonna said, "AA in Imo State is nearing burial ground if people like OGB who has been so dedicated to the party and has contributed enormously to the growth and sustainability of the party will leave. It is so unfortunate.
"I also blame the party leadership for failing to shove out their personal ego and greed and work for the general interest of the party and members.
"They should act fast because if they don't, maybe they will wake up one morning to hear that all members have left the party for them and you know what that means?"
