There massive jubilation and celebration among journalists in Imo State following the reappointment of Hon. Declan Emelumba as a Commissioner by the state governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma.
Emelumba, immediate past Commissioner of Information and Strategy was among the twelve Commissioner Nominees successfully screened by the state House of Assembly under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe today.
There is high expectation as media practitioners in the state are clamouring and appealing to the governor to reassign the Information and Strategy portfolio to Emelumba.
According to the journalists, "Emelumba diligently discharged his responsibility as the Information Commissioner in the first tenure to the overall interest and well-being of Imo citizens especially the media practitioners."
"There is no doubt that he (Emelumba) deserves another opportunity to serve Imolites as a Commissioner and because he performed well as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, we pray and appeal to the governor to reassign him the portfolio." Uchechi Madu said.
