Imo State Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma has reiterated his commitment to stamp out violent crimes as well as end the observation of sit-at-home order in the state.
He said that even as significant successes are being recorded since he assumed office in areas of crime control and restoration of stability in the state, the command under his watch would not rest until peace is restored inthe entire communities of the state.
CP Aboki made this statement while addressing members of the Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, Imo State Chapter as they commemorate the International Women's Day.
Speaking at the event held at the Command's headquarters, Owerri, on Friday, the Imo Police boss applauded the Imo POWA for their selfless sacrifices and support to their husbands and the command in general.

He also used the opportunity to commiserate with the POWA members, LAPOWA, whose husbands paid the supreme price in course of their services to the nation and urged them to continually put their trust in God for better days ahead.
CP Aboki equally admonished them to always uphold good family values and instil quality virtues on their children while also praying and supporting their husbands relentlessly to help them discharge their lawful duties diligently and effectively.
He sais, "When I came in here, we met serious security challenge and we have never relented in putting in our best to achieve the desired results. I want to tell you that I and my men will not rest until peace returns in Imo.
"No doubt, we are gradually winning the battle except for few places like Orsu, Orlu, Njaba and Okigwe. I can assure you that soon, everything will be fine."
"We are going to ensure that the sit-at-home issue ends completely in this state.But we can only achieve this with your continued support, prayers and sacrifices.
"I acknowledge and sincerely appreciate POWA cooperation and immense contributions in this command and society at large and I want promise you that the command will always support you." CP Aboki added
Earlier in her address, the Imo POWA and the Commissioner's wife, Mrs. Jemimah Danjuma Aboki said that the International Women's Day provided an opportunity to honour and appreciate the selfless sacrifices and countless contributions of women, particularly Police Officer's wives, "in policing our contemporary society and enhancing the overall security of our dear Nation."
She also announced the empowerment of one hundred less privileged Police Officers wives with cash sums to aid them in setting up petty trade that will support them in taking care of their families.
Mrs. Aboki stated that the gesture which is one of the initiatives of the POWA President and wife of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, was aimed at providing solace to the families of less privileged officers.
The Imo POWA Chairperson also lauded the exceptional courage and determination shown by the wives of deceased and injured Police Officers amid all difficulties and encouraged them not to relent, noting that the thoughts, support, and prayers of POWA are with them.
She urged the beneficiaries of the cash empowerment to make judicious use of the money given to them by establishing petty businesses that will support them in taking care of their children and families.
