The Imo State Commissioner for Water Resources, Ozo Obinna Ogwuegbu has debunked the report on the social media with the caption "Massive Looting And Vandalism At Otamiri Waterworks"

The Commissioner while speaking to journalists when he visited the Water Scheme, last Friday made it clear that there was no vanadalization at the state government owned facility.

Ogwuegbu noted that the equipments at the water scheme are still intact and CCTV camera were only brought down due to a malfunctioning  but has been reinstalled  and the security personnel incharge of the water scheme are on their duty post.

He described the purported report as false and baseless, noting that the Governor, "Sen. Hope Uzodimma is undeterred on his efforts at the provision of portable water for the good people  of Imo state."

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Nwaugo Nnenna, the Managing Director, Imo State Water Sewerage Corporation, Engr Peter Chukwuma and the enlarged management team of the Ministry.

Meanwhile the Commissioner also  visited some of the water schemes in the state, such as the one at Umuoba, Imo State University, Owerri, Dikenafai and Ubomiri to ascertain the facilities on ground as directed by the State Governor.
