Imo State Police Command has distributed essential items such as bags of rice, a live cow and monetary gifts worth over Three Million Naira to thirty families of slain officers of the command in the spirit of the yuletide celebrations.
The palliative items was presented to the beneficiaries, by the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma through his deputy in-charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, DCP Sirajo Fana Mohammed at the Command's headquarters in Owerri on Tuesday.
Speaking, DCP Mohammed reiterated the Command's commitment under the leadership of CP Danjuma in ensuring adequate welfare of the families of men and officers of the command especially widows and children of those who paid the supreme price on the line of duty.

He disclosed that the supportive gesture was in honour of the slain officers' sacrifices to the command and the society at large and also a way of encouraging their families to remain strong and resilient.
The Imo Police chief also assured the beneficiaries of the continued support from the command and urged them never to give up on life over thier losses while praying God to continue to comfort, protect and provide for them.
"Under the dynamic leadership of CP Aboki Danjuma, the Imo State Police Command continues to prioritize the welfare of its officers and their families, particularly those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the State." Mohammed said.

Mrs. Gift Richard Ubi, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed profound gratitude for the generous gesture. She noted that the gift was not only a material relief but also an emotional comfort, especially during the Christmas period.
The ceremony was witnessed by the management team of the Command including the Deputy Commissioner in-charge of Administratibon, DCP Hamman Joda Barka, the Command's Secretary, ACP Edwin Akpa, Commander, IGP X-Squad, ACP Linus Nwaiwu, the Command's spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye among others.
While some of the beneficiaries included Obijiaku Cynthia, Chikaodiri Promise, Silas Blessing, Abigal Aniekan Etim, Isa Shamsiya, Ndukwu Chinenye, Eburuo Chioma, Janet Danladi, Ajiaki Bamanga, Mary Abua, Hassana Ahmed, Ogoma Mary, Nneka Isang, Ihedioha Francis, Vincent Chikaodi and Zuwaira Ira.
