Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna-Iwuanyanwu has urged Imolites to embrace and support the re-election bid of the state governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma.
Iwuanyanwu predicted that Uzodimma's second term in office would attract great benefits for the people as well as enable him consolidate on his impressive achievements and policies especially in the area of infrastructural development and offering of good governance.
The member representing Nwangele State Constituency in the state assembly, made the call recently in Owerri while appraising the outcome of the just concluded APC grassroots mobilisation outreach across the state.
He described the political exercise as pertinent and fruitful approach towards realising the Governor’s re-election bid.
The Deputy Speaker applauded the level of compliance and commitment upon which the people have embraced with great enthusiasm the task of returning Gov. Uzodimma for a second term.
He also commended the Governor for utilising his resourceful political expertise, insightful leadership capacity and national connectivities for the overall benefit of the state.
According to him, "Gov. Uzodimma’s 3R (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery) agenda, which formed the policy thrust of the government, has been able to usher in a new era of massive infrastructural revolution in the state for the general good of the people."
He added that, "Gov. Hope Uzodimma, through the 3R initiative has laid a solid foundation for a better Imo with gigantic infrastructural facelift from its inglorious ebb of total infrastructural dilapidation and socioeconomic comatose as a result of cluelessness of its previous regimes that ran the state as an extension of their feudal estates."
He disclosed that Gov. Uzodimma, through his pragmatic approach to public service, has been able to attract some verifiable federal projects in the state, especially the upgrading of Alvan Ikoku from college of Education to a Federal University status; Federal Medical Centre, Owerri to Federal University Teaching Hospital. Facilitation and establishment of Federal Science and Technical College, Umuaka, in Njaba LGA and the recent attracted multi billion Naira dredging of Oguta-Orashi River, which has the potential of accelerating socioeconomic growth, massive job creation in the state by opening up several windows of opportunities for both local and foreign investors.
"So I appeal Imo people to shun parochial sentimentalism and support Gov. Uzodimma’s re-election bid to guarantee proper consolidation of all his signature projects and to attract more federal presence in the state." Iwuanyanwu added.
