... Samdaddy seeks FG's intervention

Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has assured the public that those behind the Tuesday killing of security operatives at Ehime Mbano area of Imo State will be fished out and made to face the law.
Recall that on early hours of Tuesday, eight members of the Joint Security Task Force whose identities are yet to be established were killed in an ambush by unknown gunmen while on duty at the Umuezeala Owerre area of Ehime Mbano.
Speaking at the scene of the ugly incident, Uzodimma, accompanied by the Imo State Commissioner of Police and the Director Department of State Services, expressed sadness over the lives lost.
He assured that "the State Government in collaboration with security agencies would fish out the perpetrators with a view to bringing them to book."
Governor Uzodimma however urged the leaders and people of the Communities in the area to avail the government and security agencies of the vital information they need to do their work.
He also prayed for God's mercy for the victims and the fortitude for the families to bear the irreplaceable loss of their loved ones in the incident.
Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming November 11th election, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) has solicited Federal Government intervention over the spate of insecurity in the state.

In a release signed by his campaign spokesman, Ikenna Onuoha, Samdaddy urged Governor Uzodimma to immediately address the prevalent security challenges in the state, "and plays down on politics for now."
The release partly reads, "Imo State in the last three years has turned to a theatre of war and bloodbath. Painfully, on daily basis, Imo people are awash with news of ambushing and killing of security operatives and innocent Imo citizens by gunmen yet to be ascertained.
"While our campaign council sympathizes with families of the alleged slain security operatives, the council therefore urges the state government to as a matter of urgency address the lingering insecurity menace ravaging the entire state and as well, desist from politicizing issues that require urgent attention.
"Our Campaign Council call on the federal government to intervene and show more empathy with the victims."
