... creates 29 extra centers for PVCs collection

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has assured electorate in Imo State of its commitment to conduct credible governorship in the state billed for November 11th.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Prof. Sylvia Agu gave the assurance while briefing newsmen at her office in Owerri, yesterday.
She urged electorate who were yet to collect the Permanent Voters Card, PVC to do so, disclosing that additional 29 designated centres have been created across the 27 councils of the state to encourage easy collections.

She disclosed that about one hundred and thirty four thousand (134,000) PVCs are yet to be collcted in the state, adding that, "issuance of the PCVs has re-commenced in the state from 11th of September, which would run till the 9th of October, Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9am to 3pm."
She said, "As I had mentioned to you in our previous meetings, INEC, Imo State still has many uncollected PVCs piled in each of the twenty seven (27) LGAs of the State, about one hundred and thirty four (134,000) presently.
"I therefore use this opportunity to once again urge Imolites to come for their PVCs at the respective INEC LGA Offices, but for Orsu LGA whose distribution centre is in the State Office here.
"Apart from the 27 LGA offices, INEC has also created some centres for PVCs collection for those Registration Areas who have more than one thousand (1000) uncollected PVCs.

She continued, "remember that PVCs are not collected by proxy and it must exchanged with the Temporary Voters Card, 5. The Commission has gone a step further to harvest the phone numbers of owners of the uncollected PVCs in the three states of Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States where election will hold in November 11, 2023 and sent bulk SMS to the owners. This is all in a bid to ensure the owners pick up their cards."
"On level of preparedness, INEC, Imo State is fully ready for the Elections. All non- sensitive materials have been received and shall, in due time, be distributed to the various LGAS.
"We pray God for a hitch-free and violence-curbed process even as INEC is poised to yet again conduct a credible, free and fair Election." she assured.
