The Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Chief Cosmas Iwu has charged youths of the state to desist from the act of get- rich - quick Syndrome and other social vices.
He said such behaviours are inimical to their growth and development as future leaders of the nation and society at large.
Chief Iwu gave the charge when the executive members of Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, (CYON) Okigwe Diocese led by the Diocesan Youth President Miss Owunwunne Nkechi paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Cabinet office, Owerri.
He pointed out that the family, Church, School are essential agents of formation in human development and socialization, "hence when the three agents play their roles properly in Child upbringing, it makes room for a better society and smooth governance."
Iwu reiterated the determination of the Shared Prosperity Government led by Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma to continue to partner with the church and other relevant bodies to curb the spate of crime and insecurity in the state.
He noted that killing of human beings and get rich quick syndrome are alien to the norms and culture of Igbo people.

Chief Iwu equally commended the members of Okigwe Diocesan Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria for devoting their time in the things of the Lord, especially in organising their forthcoming "Diocesan Youth Day/Cultural fiesta and a Day with the Bishop.
He also used the opportunity to highlight some of the incontrovertible landmark achievements of Governor Uzodimma, in the areas of road construction and especially in the area of youth empowerment.
He stressed that Governor Uzodimma recently trained over ( 15,000) fifteen thousand Imo youths under the Skill up lmo project and on graduation gave them Laptops.
The SGI, therefore called on Imo Youths to support the second term bid of the Governor and come out en- mass come November 11th to vote for Governor Uzodimma, in order to ensure the continuity of the good work he is doing in the state.

Earlier in his speech, Miss Owunwunne Nkechi, the Diocesan Youth president of CYON, said that they were on the visit to intimate the SGI of their forthcoming event and to formally invite him.
Contributing, the former President of CYON, Okigwe Diocese and currently Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health, Hon Austin Iwu, thanked the SGI for the audience and especially in carrying members of CYON , Okigwe Diocese in the scheme of things.
