Tribunal: Kinsmen, party chieftain celebrate ex Imo Speaker's sack

Kinsmen of the former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Kennedy Ibe have expressed joy following his removal by the State House of Assembly Tribunal sitting at Nasarawa State, on Thursday. 

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, Mr. Jonas Okere and Hon. Okay Onyema, kinsmen of Ibe said they were excited over his sack because according to them, "Ibe has allowed power to get into his head and has stepped on so many toes in our area because of his rude behaviours in recent times."

Also reacting, Hon. Charles Okafor, chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Obowo said, "the Tribunal verdict would humble Ibe and make him realise that one can not eat his cake and still have it."

"At a point, he started playing God and disregarded everyone around him including many of us who are his party leaders in Obowo. 

"Even though he is of our party, APC and the verdict painful but we want that to teach him a lesson."

Recall that the Tribunal had reportedly in its ruling ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission,  INEC to recover the Return Certificate issued to Ibe and give to his opponent, Princess Nkechi Anyanwu-Mbachu of the Labour Party. 

Ibe who represents Obowo State Constituency at IMHA, was Speaker of the house from November 8, 2021, to 19th September, 2022 after he resigned the position for personal reasons.
