Former Spokesman and head of Scorpion Unit, Imo State Police Command, ACP Michael Abattam has been decorated as the newest Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP from the command.
Abattam was recently promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP to the new rank.
Also decorated as ACPs included, Chief Medical Director, Police Clinic, Imo Command, ACP Victor Iwuamadi and ACP Peter Asogwa.
Abattam and others were decorated by heads of the command led by the Commissioner, CP Ahmed Muhammed Barde at the Command's headquarters on Thursday.
The event was performed during a crucial security meeting of strategic police managers of the Command, convened by the CP.
The meeting witnessed the setting up of an enhanced security measures that will effectively police the State during and after the season of the upcoming gubernatorial election.
In a release signed by the Command's spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye disclosed that the CP used the avenue to mandate all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team Commanders to continuously embark on round-the-clock visibility patrol and intelligence-led raids of criminal hideouts.
He equally urged them to step up their efforts in dominating the entire security space and put an end to activities of criminally minded elements in the State.
The CP while congratulating the newly decorated officers, admonished them that a high level of professionalism and unwavering dedication is expected from them. He implored them to live up to the responsibility that is saddled with the new rank.

Society Mirror gathered that the decorated 40 newly promoted Senior Police officers of the Command included 3 Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 6 Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), 3 Superintendent of Police (SP), and 26 DSPs.
