The General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Agency, OCDA, Hon. Franklin Nzewodo has vowed to rid the agency of touting and miscreants.

He said before his appointment as the GM of the agency, touts nearly took over OCDA owing to poor management by its previous managers.

Speaking to newsmen in his office, recently, the Owerri born development expert said his vision is to restore professionalism in the activities of the agency.

He furthered that under his watch only those who will help drive the agency to live to expectations of the government for the overall good of the people and state are being engaged.

The OCDA boss also solicited partnership from key stakeholders in urban development sector to help in achieving sanity and orderliness in the development of the state especially the Owerri metropolis.

He said, "since I assumed office, I have been able to set the ball rolling. When I came in I met work here in a low speed because of poor management which allowed touts to almost take over the core job of OCDA.

"So I have been able to sieve out these bad eggs and assembled a very good team to do the job well.

"You know the core job of OCDA is to control development within the Owerri metropolis, otherwise people will go out of their way to distort the masterplan. We also help to degenerate revenue for the state."

He continued, "now that I am here, I am advising everyone especially those who intend to develop their area to do the right thing.

"So if you want to develop your plot or to build your house, you come to the appropriate place in OCDA, meet the right people, and if you have no confidence in anybody, you come to the office of the General Manager.

"I am always available. You come here, I will tell you what to do. We will guide you properly so that you don't make mistakes."
