Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma has met with critical stakeholders cum leaders of Northern settlements in the state.
The meeting, held at the Sairiki Hausawa Palace, Ama Hausa Douglass, Owerri on Thursday, Society Mirror gathered was part of the CP Danjuma's determined effort to enhancing his community policing-oriented approach to combating crimes in the state.
Hence, according to the release signed by the Command's spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye, the meeting afforded the opportunity for the CP to interface, interact and profer solutions to combating crimes and to guarantee adequate security in the state.
It was also conveyed to brainstorm on other issues that would help in forstering continued peaceful coexistence between the Imo indigenes and the foreigners, especially the Hausa community members.

Okoye said, "in continuation of his community policing-oriented approach to combating crime, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, on Thursday, 29th February 2024, convened a pivotal security meeting with the stakeholders of the Northern Settlements in the State, to brainstorm on security issues concerning the State and collaboratively roll out strategies that will improve the overall safety and security of all sundry in the State.
"The meeting which was held at the Sairiki Hausawa Palace, Ama Hausa Douglass, Owerri had in attendance the Sariki Hausawa, Imo State, HRH Alhaji Hawal Sulieman, and members of his cabinet, Chief Imam of the State, Barrister Tony Benson, Chief Imam 34 Artillery Brigade, Major Ridwan Imam, former special adviser to the Governor on Northern Affairs, Sulieman Ibrahim, Chairman, Bureau De Change, Ama Hausa, Alhaji Hamza Abdullahi, representatives of the State Government and management team of the Command.
"Speaking at the productive meeting, the Sariki Hausawa, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for his pragmatic efforts in safeguarding the life and properties of the residents of the State.
"He assured the CP of continued partnership, particularly in providing actionable intelligence that will assist in fishing out criminally minded elements hibernating in the State and affirmed that as custodian of the Northern Settlements in the State, he is highly committed to promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence for the economic growth and development in the State.

"In response, the Commissioner of Police emphasized the crucial role Traditional Leaders play in maintaining peace and order within their domain. He urged the Sariki to implore his followers to shun all forms of criminal activities and continue to collaborate with the security agencies in the fight against violent crimes in the State.
"Recognizing the significance of community engagement in combating crime, CP Danjuma affirmed that the Command under his watch will continue to collaborate with stakeholders in the State and embrace efforts that will foster community participation in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.
"The meeting equally provided an opportunity for the Commissioner of Police to address a recent misunderstanding that erupted between the Sariki Hausawa and Chairman, Bureau De Change in Ama Hausa and mediate for lasting peace."
