Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has been applauded for his laudable contributions and dedication towards achieving a crime free, peaceful and development driven environment for the citizens and residents of the State.
The commendation was given by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma while speaking to newsmen in his office in Owerri, on Tuesday.
CP Danjuma stated that Governor Uzodimma has been consistent in his support to the command especially in areas of providing the needed logistics and resources, aimed at ensuring effective policing of the state.

He disclosed that the Governor has approved the immediate repairs and refurbishment of some dilapidated security vehicles in the command to boost their logistics, adding that the gesture followed his (Uzodimma) recent donation of 25 patrol vehicles to the command.
According to him, "His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma has demonstrated genuine commitment in combating crimes and criminality in the state. His immense contributions to the command has remained our major strength and reason behind the security successes we have recorded so far in the state.
He continued, "just recently Governor Uzodimma donated about 25 brand new security vehicles to the command to enhance our job. And just few days ago, he has also approved the refurbishment of about 52 worn-out vehicles we have here in order to beef up our logistics. With all this, the command is better equipped to render effective policing.
"Also, when you look at all this Governor's support to the command, you will agree with me that he is truly determined to safeguard the state and her citizens as well as boost the economy and achieve overall development of the state. Because once security is guaranteed, every other thing in the state flourishes."

The Imo Police boss also used the opportunity to solicit collaborative support from the entire citizens and residents of the State to the command while reiterating his determined effort to guarantee adequate protection of lives and properties in the state.
"I also want to thank my boss, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun for for his support too which has greatly encouraged us to fight crime and criminality head-on here in Imo state.
"I want to assure Imo people that the command under my leadership will never relent in our core responsibilities to the state. We are happy that the people appreciate our effort and I want them to be rested assured that we are not going to rest on our ores." CP Danjuma added.

Society Mirror gathered that the dilapidated vehicles approved by the governor for refurbishment included 22 Toyota Sienna, 20 Pick-up Vans, 2 Saloon Cars, and 8 Armoured Personnel Carrie, APC.
While the recently donated patrol vehicles were distributed to some divisions and tactical team of the command.
