Friends of ASP Nwaobasi Ikechukwu attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of Imo State Police Command have built and donated a well-equipped modern office facility worth Five Million Naira to the State command.
The project was facilitated by a cleric, Prophet Andrew Eziaha (Seer 1), General Overseer, Christ Freedom Ministry, Owerri and Hon. Henry Agbasonu, member representing Ezinihitte Mbaise in the State House of Assembly.
Handing over the office facility to the Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma at the Command on Wednesday, Eziaha and Agbasonu said the gesture, borne out of their genuine concern for the general welfare of the police officers in the state, was done to enhance investigation and effective policing of the state.

According to them, the police need conducive environment and the collective support of the entire people of the state to enable them discharge their responsibility effectively and efficiently for the general good of the citizens and the state.
They lauded the CP and men of the command for their proctiveness and commitment in fighting insecurity in the state, assuring that they would continue to partner with the command in areas that would help guarantee adequate security in the state.
Speaking, the CP expressed gratitude on behalf of the command for the gesture, stressing that it would assist in effective operation of his men as well as enhance their commitment to effective service delivery.
The Imo Police boss also commended the state governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma and the well meaning people of the state for their continued cooperation and support to the command, while reiterating the unwavering commitment of the command under his watch to community policing and zero tolerance to crime in the State.
Also, the Head of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, CSP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, represented by his second in command, SP Philip Opara, thanks the cleric and others for the project, assuring that it will be put to good use.
He also appreciated the CP for his fatherly role and leadership dexterity which he said has endeared every officer and men of the command to him as well as boast their morale to duty, while assuring that the officers under the AKS Unit would never relent in their commitment in curbing crimes and criminality in the State.
One of the highlights of the event was the official decoration of Nwaobasi by the CP to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
ASP Nwaobasi who was recently promoted to his new rank, was full of joy and gratitude to God, the CP, his friends and colleagues for the honour done to him and promised to redouble his commitment to duty.
