... assures Imo workers, residents maximum security

Imo State Police Commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma has assured government workers and residents of the state of adequate security and urged them to about their lawful activities without any fear of harm or molestation.
Danjuma's assurance came on the heels of the reported threat issued by the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB of shutting down the state workers' Secretariat in Owerri for a period of one month, starting from Wednesday.
Speaking during his visit to the Secretariat today, the CP said security personnel, both on covert and uncovert, have been massively deployed to guarantee adequate security of the workers and the facility.
He disclosed that the command has equally adopted new security strategy to combat any attempt by violent elements to attack the state or sabotage security efforts in the state.

He said, "we have had similar threats from the Proscribed IPOB in the state but this time around, we have adopted new strategy to ensure that this particular one has no effect on the Imo people.
"We are here to assure Imo workers that they are adequately protected. Our men are massively on ground on covert and uncovert to ensure that nothing of security concern happens here."
Responding, the State Head of Service, Barr. Raymond Ucheoma appreciated the CP for what he described as his proactive response in the face of the said IPOB's threat.
He stressed that the visit and deployment of the security personnel at the Secretariat gave the workers the needed confidence to come to work and to perform their expected duties to the state.
He described the threat, which he said was targeted at the workforce of the state, as unfortunate and expressed optimism on the competence of the state government led by Sen. Hope Uzodimma and the security agencies to handle it properly to avert any loss of life or speculated attack.
