Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma has urged the 480 recruits undergoing training at the Police Training School, Nekede to imbibe discipline as their watchword and shun all forms of corrupt practices.
CP Danjuma gave the advice on Tuesday during his assessment cum inspection visit to the training school, which according to him was on the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
The CP also charged them to uphold high level of professionalism while discharging their duties as Police officers, stressing that IGP has zero tolerance for corruption and professional misconduct.

He reminded them that they would be posted back to their respective communities upon graduation as their recruitment was community based, while urging them to be agents of change in their respective communities.
Danjuma further warned that anyone caught compromising the standard of the profession or associating with their relatives who are criminal elements would receive appropriate disciplinary sanction or would not be spared by the law.
The Imo Police boss who equally reiterated the IGP's commitment to deepening policing at the community level, further encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force.
On the Police commitment to guarantee security during the yuletide season, the CP said his men are on red alert to ensure that the celebrations were hitch-free in the state, adding that the IGP has deployed enough personnel across the country for the season.
Highlights of the visit included the presentation of gift prizes to some students who distinguished themselves in the act of shooting range among other training activities; presentation of cow, bags of rice and other food stuff to the students for the yuletide celebrations courtesy of the Commissioner and inspection of the guard of honour by the CP.
Some of the students who spoke to newsmen during the visit commended the IGP and the Commissioner for what they described as their uncommon fatherly love and genuine concern for their general welfare cum wellbeing.

Meanwhile, the CP equally used the opportunity to inspect some projects at the Police Training School done through the community policing initiative of Chief Security Officer to the state governor, SP Shaba Gboyako.
The projects include 26 installed solar lights, newly constructed solar powered borehole, newly painted administrative and classroom blocks, and items such as 80 plastic chairs, 3 public address system, a table tennis board among others.
