The Chairperson of Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, Imo State chapter and wife of the State Police Commissioner, Mrs. Jemima Aboki Danjuma has urged fellow wives of Police officers to embrace and support one another in love for their collective good and progress.
Mrs. Aboki Danjuma gave the charge at the empowerment programme she jointly organized with the POWA president, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun held at the Imo Command’s headquarters, Owerri on Thursday.
The humanitarian event which had over 190 beneficiaries including wives of slain officers, orphans and other indigent families, according to the Imo POWA boss underscored the dedication of the association to empowering women within the Police Community and the society at large.

She said, "Today, we are gathered as ambassadors of peace and progress, in the spirit of empathy and solidarity that unites us as Police Officers' Wives to empower, support, and elevate the living standards of over 190 families of our gallant Police officers who work tirelessly to safeguard the State, including, members POWA, LAPOWA, PWA, orphans in the Police as well as less privileged in Imo State.
"As we embark on this important empowerment initiative, let us take a moment and appreciate the unwavering courage and selfless sacrifices embraced by Police Officer’s wives, particularly the wives of deceased and injured Police Officers, and rededicate our commitment to love and support one another.
"I am optimistic that this empowerment program will go a long way in providing solace to the beneficiaries. I urge them to make judicious use of the items in setting up small scale businesses to support them in taking care of their children and families."

The Imo CP's wife applauded the POWA president for her visit to the state and for her genuine commitment to the general well-being of the police officers wives which she said has helped in sustaining a good spirit among the POWA members as well as boosting the morale of their husbands on their duties for the nation.
She also extended her appreciation to the State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma and his wife, Barr. Chioma Uzodinma, "for their constant support to the families of injured and deceased Police Officers who paid the supreme price while discharging their lawful duty."
According to her, the Governor and his wife' continued support to Imo POWA, "has given their families a renewed hope and helped to ameliorate their sufferings."

In the same vein she expressed immense gratitude to her husband, CP Aboki Danjuma, his management team and the entire officers and men of the Command for their continuous support to POWA and LAPOWA members in thestate, especially during the just celebrated Yuletide season."
The empowerment items included 19 sewing machines, 10 fridges, 10 water pumping machines, 50 bags of rice, 50 cartons of Indomie, 50 five-liter gallons of groundnut oil, 40 bags of fertilizer, 25 grinding machines, among other essential items.
