Operatives of the Imo State Police Command, in synergy with other security agencies has successfully dislodged hideouts of notorious IPOB/ESN commanders situated at Ubaa, Umuaka in Njaba council area of the state.
Disclosing this in a release availed to newsmen, the Command's spokesman, DSP Henry Okoye said the feat was in continuation of the sustained efforts of the security forces to rid Imo State of criminal elements and restore peace across all the communities in the state.
He hinted that the 'well-coordinated operation' carried out on 18th August, followed credible intelligence and confessional statements from arrested suspects, Uchenna Opara ‘m’ and Ozioma Ihedoro ‘m’.

According to Okoye, during the operation, the alleged armed terrorists on sighting the operatives, "opened fire but were overpowered by the superior firepower of the security forces, forcing them to flee into the adjoining bushes with gunshot injuries. Investigation is ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects."
The Command's spokesman further availed that on a thorough search of the dislodged camps, two Biafra flags, one POS machine, one AK-47 rifle with three magazines, forty rounds of live AK-47 ammunition, sixty rounds of live GPMG ammunition, two pump-action guns, and five hundred and eighty-two live cartridges were recovered.
"The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, in synergy with other security agencies, calls on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons with gunshot injuries to the nearest police station.
"He assures Imolites of the Command’s commitment to safety and urges all to stay law-abiding and use the emergency line 0803 477 3600 for timely reports." Okoye added.
