Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma has advised workers in the state not to be deceived by promises made to them by candidates of opposition parties aimed at winning their votes in the forthcoming November 11th governorship election in the state.
Uzodinma, who gave the advice during a working visit to the state secretariat at Port Harcourt road, Owerri on Friday, said most politicians are good at making promises that are bogus, unrealistic and capable of deceiving the electorate.
Governor Uzodimma also urged the Civil Servants, "to resist the temptation of being used by agents of the satan to destabilize the government and the state in the name of politics."
And as the state governorship poll draws nearer, the Governor further admonished them to be wary of all forms of ploy or threat by the oppositions to coerce them to vote against their conscience during the poll.
"Be mindful of pretenders who want to tell you how they will make Imo better without any proper plan. They are only out to deceive you." he said.

The Governor also reiterated his government commitment to overall welfare of workers in the state, while acknowledging the support and loyalty of the Civil Servants to his administration.
He stressed that their unwavering support has motivated him to fulfill all the promised he made to them in 2020 when he assumed office, and the commitment to do more.
Uzodimma said aside the implementation of the payment of 13th month salary, he had concluded plans to increase the number of buses provided for the civil servants to cushion the effects of subsidy removal on fuel.
He further stated that the regular payments of salaries and pensions have enhanced the economy of the state and promised that arrangement is in advanced stage to pay the gratuity of retired Imo workers.
He said, “I feel fulfilled when civil servants ride on their executive vehicles to office. The civil service is the engine of the government hence the need to elevate the workers' working environment."
Earlier on arrival at the secretariat, the Governor commissioned walk way, visited some blocks housing the Civil Service/Local Government Service Commission/Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Ministry of Works and that of Transport and Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics as well the Office of the Head of Service.
