Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming Imo State governorship election, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) has said he joined the guber race in order to make the citizens happy again and to have good sense of belonging in governance of the state.
He said his government, when elected, will prioritize the general welfare and interest of the people by creating massive employment opportunities for the youths, enhance the economy of the state and ensure effective service delivery and functionality of all sectors in the state.
Anyanwu, two time former member of Imo State House of Assembly, and Chairman of Ikeduru Council Area stated this during the official inauguration of his campaign council, held at the party's secretariat, Owerri on Tuesday.
He reiterated his commitment to address issues of insecurity, economic stagnation cum high rate of poverty in the state as well as restore the lost glory of the state once in power.
He said, "let me tell you, I see nobody in Douglas House. That Douglas House has been empty since 29th May 2022. And by the grace of God, I am going to occupy the place come November 11th.
"And if i get to power, i can assure you that our youths will not be killed again. Our local government, health and educational system will work again. The economy of our state will boom again. Tourism life of Imo will bounce back."

Samdaddy also urged the party members and the entire Imo people to come out massively to participate in the coming election exercise, while assuring them their votes will count.
He said the November 11th election will not be rigged or compromised in favour of any candidate or party, adding that it is a golden opportunity for Imo citizens to take back their state by voting out APC and its misrule in the state.
He said, "in this race, I fear nobody and nobody can do me anything. And for you, the PDP members and Imolites in general, do not be afraid. Nothing will happen to you. Don't mind their antics and threats. God will fight this battle for us."
"If you are in PDP today, just rejoice. The dire is cast. With your massive support and votes leading to our victory, we are going to bring power back to PDP. We are going to make Imo people to be happy again. We are going to stop bloodletting in Imo State. We are going to restore lost glory of Imo State."
"So I want to plead with Imolites to come out and vote in the comingelection. Nobody will harass or harm you. After voting, make efforts to protect your votes. I want to assure you that your votes will count. Just do your part and leave the rest for me." he added.
