It was a gathering of family members, friends, well wishers and prominent personalities from all walks of life from within and outside the country at the funeral of late Mrs. Rose Nwoga.
Late Mrs. Nwoga who died at the age of 86years, was the mother of a renowned philanthropist, industrialist, technocrat and astute politician, Hon. Chief Paul Nwoga.
Some of the prominent personalities who graced the glamorous funeral included the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Senator representing Imo East, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Tony Chukwu, Chief Chinedu Chukwuonye (Coduc)
among others.
Obasanjo while speaking at the funeral held on Thursday, 4th January, 2024, extolled the virtues of the late Nwoga matriarch which he noted were responsible for the raising of men and women of worthy character and integrity as her children, who are impacting the society.
He prayed God to grant those who came to celebrate Mama Nwoga longevity, and their children and relatives the enablement, that will help them celebrate them in the same way Mama's children celebrated her.
The former president finally charged the people on selfless service and living for posterity, stressing that one's good deeds and legacy remain indelible even after life.

For the officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Ben Nwoga, the late matriarch lived a life of fulfilment and total service for God and humanity.
Also, speaking on behalf of the deceased children, Chief Paul Nwoga described late mother as a virtuous and chrismatic woman and community leader, who sacrificed immensely for the general well-being of all and sundry.
He further said that their late mother will be greatly missed for her tendered love, support, advice, encouragement and generosity which knew no boundaries.
According to him, "my beloved mother lived for all and gave her all for God and humanity. Her motherly love, support, advice, prayers and encouragement will be greatly missed.
"For us, her children and all those who came in contact with her, she is irreplaceable and will forever be remembered for her good deeds and devoted services to God and mankind."
The renowned philanthropist also used the opportunity to advise Nigerians on perseverance in the face of the current economic challenge bedeviling the country.
He expressed optimism for prosperous days ahead and urged all to contribute in whatever measure to achieve a better society, "of our collective dream."
