Imo big shots collapse in Ile-Ife as Tiger Base boss buries iconic father in grand style

It was a gathering of who is who across all facets of the society at the funeral ceremony of Alh. Ahmada Tijani Adewale Odeyeyinwa, (the Aare Musulumi of Modakeke) who died at the age of 94 years.

Late Alhaji Odeyeyinwa is the father of CSP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, Commanding Officer, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, otherwise known as Tiger Base, Imo State Police Command. Otumba Kazeem Odeyeyinwa, Chairman of Ibile Motors, MD/CEO of Repton Group, and a Director of Defrost Ventures Limited among other illustrious sons and daughters.

Until his death, the deceased was former member of Federal House of Representatives, a renowned philanthropist, business mogul, revered community leader and a devoted Muslim.


Speaking to newsmen at the funeral ceremony held at Modakeke Civic Centre, Modakeke, Ile-Ife, Osun State on Saturday, CSP Odeyeyinwa described his late father as an astute politician, disciplinary, exemplary father, reverend community leader, a humanitarian and role model. 

He said, "everyone who had had contact with my beloved father, especially we the children and immediate family will greatly miss his fatherly love, support, advise, prayers, blessings and encouraging words.

"He was a man of the people. He was loved by all because of his unassuming and humane personality. The only thing he can't give out or sacrifice for others is what he doesn't have. His death has left a very big vacuum and his legacy will live for posterity.

"While I pray our Almighty Allah to grant his soul the deserved peace in His bosom, I sincerely appreciate all who have come from far and near to join us to bid him final farewell and to celebrate with us today, his memorable life and time."
