The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma has ordered comprehensive investigation over the fatal accident involving gas truck and coater bus which occurred at Awo-Omamma, along Owerri/Onitsha Road, in the state on Sunday.
The ghastly accident, our reporter gathered claimed lives of twelve passengers, including children, who were said to be members of Jehovah Witness, returning from a church programme.
Speaking to newsmen when he visited the scene of the fatal accident for an on-the-spot assessment, CP Danjuma expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured who are currently receiving medical attention in nearby hospital.

The Imo Police boss accompanied by the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Imo State, Corps Commander Udensi Emea Oji and other senior officers on the scene visit, also advised the State Traffic Officers (STO) to intensify enforcement of traffic regulations across the state.
The CP also urged all road users to obey traffic rules, prioritize safety, and drive responsibly to safeguard lives and property.
Also the Command's spokesman, DSP Henry Okoye in a release availed to newsmen over the incident, said the outcome of the investigation would be made public upon conclusion.
Okoye said the Command would through the STOs intensify effort on curbing reckless and dangerous driving practices such as wrongful overtaking, excessive speeding, and general negligence on the road.
