Imo State Police Command has conducted a free medical outreach for personnel and residents of the state aimed at promoting health and general well-being within the state.
Some of the free essential health services provided at the event, held at the Command's headquarters, Owerri on Thursday, included eye check up, HIV and Hepetitis screenings, deworming of children, sugar level and blood pressure testings, treatment of common illnesses and general consultations.
Declaring the free medicare services open, the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma said the outreach was part of the events lined up by the command in commemoration of the ongoing maiden National Police Week.
CP Danjuma disclosed that the command under his watch would continue to explore opportunities that will boost confidence and ensure healthy relationship between members of the public and the police in the state.
In the same vein, the command also hosted critical stakeholders in the state including security agencies, government officials, community and religious leaders to a crucial meeting, designed to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing collaboration between security agencies and the public to create a safer and more prosperous Imo State.
The theme of the meeting, "Strengthening Collaborative Security Efforts for a Safer Imo State," according to CP Danjuma underscored the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing security challenges and fostering sustainable peace in the state.

He said, "the National Police Week gives us the chance to reflect on our progress, tackle challenges, and strengthen security partnerships.
"The Imo State Police Command is committed to protecting lives and property, but effective policing requires the teamwork of all stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, security agencies, and the public.
"Security is a collective responsibility. We urge all citizens to remain vigilant and security-conscious, reporting any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies. Timely intelligence is essential in preventing crime and ensuring a safer environment for all."
Governor Hope Uzodinma, represented by his Special Adviser on Security Affairs, Rtd Gen. Joseph Ogbonna and others who spoke at the meeting commended the police and other security agencies in the state for their role in restoring peace especially to troubled areas in the state.
They pledged their unwavering support to all security agencies while stressing the importance of continued collaboration to ensure lasting peace across Imo State.
Highlights of the meeting included the presentations by Governor Uzodinma’s Chief Security Officer, CSP Shaba Adamu and ACP Dan Iruokazi of the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department on “See Something, Say Something!! An Effective Tool for Community Policing,” and “Community Policing: Strengthening Collaborative Security Efforts for a Safer Imo State.”
Both presentations focused on community policing and intelligence-sharing as well as emphasized the crucial role of citizens in supporting the police and enhancing security.
Also at the meeting, some officers including CSP Emere Martins O, DPO of Njaba, STW Anyanwu Onyedikachi, STW Uche Chidiebere, ASP Martins Zeblon, and Inspector Udemezuo Chinedu were honored for their exceptional contributions to public safety, outstanding performance, professionalism and dedication to service.
Other stakeholders in attendance were members of PCRC, market leaders, CSOs, NGOs, human rights groups, leaders of women and youths groups, media practitioners, POWA members among others.
