Field of St John's Anglican Church, Naze in Owerri North Council Area of Imo State, last Wednesday, 30th April, 2025, was filled to the brim with prominent personalities from Imo, Nigeria and across the world who had gathered to bid their final farewell to Late Lady Ezinne Gladys Ugochi Nwosu.
Late Ezinne Nwosu, nee Ekeocha, popularly called Ojiji who died on 12th March, 2025 at the age of 84 years was the beloved mother of Inspector Chidiebere Nwosu of the Tiger Base Unit of the Imo State Police Command, Owerri, among other illustrious sons and daughters.
The matriarch until her demise was a devoted Christian, revered community woman leader, committed member of pious and socio-cultural organisations within her Okpuala Naze community and beyond.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the funeral church service for the late matriarch, held at St John's Anglican Church, Naze, Inspector Chidiebere Nwosu described his late mother as a rare gem, a role model and mother per excellence.
He said, "my mother lived for all and impacted many lives she came across during her sojourn here on earth. She was a cheerful giver, a peaceful, caring and lovely mother, not just to us, her children, but to uncountable others who had come in contact with her.
"For me, my late mother was an angel in human form. She was everything to me and my other siblings. We never lacked anything in her. She was ever there for us with her motherly advice, prayers, blessings, encouragement and support.
"To say that we are going to miss her immensely is under statement. But in all, we give God all thanks for the gift of her as our beloved mother. And we pray God to grant her soul the deserved peaceful rest in His bosom. Amen."
