The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma has honoured 14 officers of the Command who were among the officers recognized during the 2024 Nigeria Police Force National Award and Commendation Ceremony held in Abuja recently.
The officers were awarded by NPF for exceptional performance; diligence to duty, operational excellence and professionalism in the year 2024.
Among those honoured were ACP Michael Abattam, Area Commander, Owerri Municipal (Best Area Commander of the Year); CSP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, Commander, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Owerri (Crime Buster of the Year); and CSP Gboyako Shaba Adamu, Chief Security Officer, Government House, Owerri (IGP Special Recognition Award).
Others included CSP Emere Martins, DPO Njaba and CSP Ejike Alaribe, DPO Orlu (Nominees for Best DPO of the Year); CSP Isah Kolo, Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), (Best Patrol Team Commander of the Year); as well as nine Rapid Response Squad, RRS patrol team officers.
The CP presented souvenirs to the awardees on behalf of the entire officers and men of the Command and congratulated them, "for making the command proud."
CP Aboki Danjuma described their achievements as a reflection of hard work, professionalism, and exemplary conduct, which have brought honour not only to themselves but to the Imo State Command.
He urged other officers of the Command to emulate their awardees' operational excellence and continue to uphold the noble values of the Force in the discharge of their duties.
The Imo Police boss had yesterday, also convened a crucial security meeting with strategic police managers across the Command to assess the prevailing security situation and reinforce proactive strategies to maintain peace and order across the State.
During the meeting, the CP directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team Commanders to intensify visibility policing and intelligence-led operations in synergy with sister security agencies to prevent crime and ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Democracy Day celebration.
He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Command to upholding law and order, protecting citizens, and promoting public safety across the State.
